1 Week In: Quarantine Update

One week into our coronavirus quarantine, I'm not even sure what day it is!  Between conference calls, screaming kids and my increasing anxiety about all of this uncertainty, it hasn't been easy.

My heart goes out to you because I can only imagine you're all feeling the same way. In addition to today's outfit post, I'm sharing an update today about of how it's been going on our end. I hope these photos take your mind off of all the crazy--even if just for a few minutes!

Quarantine Update

Last night, March 19th, the state of California was put on an official lockdown for the first time. That means we can now only leave our houses for essentials like groceries and we need to stay inside at all other times.

Needless to say, the covid-19 virus has truly shaken us all to our core. All we can do now is stay home so that we don't continue to infect one another as quickly. Hopefully we can flatten the curve!

The Covid Affect

My heart breaks for people who are already sick with Covid-19 or who have family members who are.  This virus seems so scary because we don't have enough tests to go around and we can't treat it.I also can't stop thinking about small business owners who have taken such a catastrophic hit from this.

What a travesty that so many are in the midst of laying people or and/or are having to close their doors. And then there are all of the parents who have had to become home school teachers overnight for their kids.  Many of them are working full-time jobs at home on top of this! I see you, parents!Kids are going stir-crazy too...and are missing their friends and routine like crazy.

I can see this in Naiya. We've been jumping on zoom calls for her school so that she can still interact with her classmates and friends but it's not the same. This all has to get better soon, right? The PositivesIn order to get through this in one piece on my end, I'm trying my best to stay positive.

I'm focusing on the fact that without my almost three hour work commute each day, I'm able to actually see my family and get a lot more done! I've been able to cook a homemade meal for them every night and actually sit down to eat with them. This is a really big deal in our house and it means the world to me.

After Naiya goes to bed each night, I've also had a chance to go through a bunch of older blog posts I've prepped but never had a chance to post over the past few months.

Likewise, I'm excited to take this time to share some unpublished photos with you. Today's post features what was supposed to be my first outfit and family post out on the town after baby but life got in the way. I can't believe how much Sadie and Naiya have grown since this shoot! I was still in a lot of pain post-labor and I still had some swelling all over from labor but I'm so happy we have these memories together!

How Are You Feeling?

How are you and your family doing throughout all of this uncertainty and chaos? How long do you think it's going to last? Has your business been affected! Tell me all the things in the comment section below. We're all in this together!
