Sharing one of my favorite recent sketches of a textured pink dress. I love one-shouldered looks and even though summer is now officially over, I can never have enough pink in my wardrobe.
I can’t believe how quickly the summer flew by and that we’re already celebrating Labor Day weekend! Phil and I will be staying in Los Angeles, enjoying the sunshine and hopefully catching up on some much-needed sleep! I’ve been working around the clock over the past few weeks and I couldn’t be more excited for a nice breather.
I can’t get enough of the incredible gowns that floated down the red carpet earlier this week at the Met Gala in New York City. My favorite gown of the evening was a Zac Posen Cinderella-inspired confection worn by the beautiful Claire Danes. This gown was my holy grail because it was so classic, striking and I loved that it literally glowed from the inside out.
I’m excited to share the latest fashion illustration from my sketchbook with you today. It’s inspired by supermodels Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner’s Balmain looks from Paris Fashion Week. When I first saw these looks, I couldn’t wait to illustrate them. Kendall’s dress has extra volume at the hips and it reminds me of a dramatic costume from ‘The Hunger Games.’ The texture and color are so beautiful that I couldn’t get it out of my head. I also love how Gigi’s outfit is made up of color-blocked shades of blush–none of which actually match but all of which work really well together. I also love the vertical stripes in her cape.
