How is this the last day of 2019? 2018 flew by quicker than any year I can remember. I started 2018 as an anxious new mama cradling a tiny four month old baby wondering how I’d ever go back to work. Now I have a walking, spunky 16 month old and I’ve found my new normal (usually!)! Excited to take a look back at 2018 below with our favorite outfits and an ever-growing Naiya.
Since giving birth to Naiya seven weeks ago today (I can’t believe how quickly time is flying!), I’ve mostly been wearing a lot of basics around the house on repeat. Between pumping, nursing, cleaning countless dirty diapers and trying to get at least a tiny bit of sleep in, getting dressed (let alone showering or having time to look halfway decent) has been nearly impossible. That said, when I pulled out this comfy floral dress I’d been eyeing in my closet for a while and decided to actually get dressed this week for a change, I felt so more like myself than I have in a very long time; it was so liberating!
My bump keeps popping by the day and I’ll be the first to admit: now that I’ve entered my third trimester of pregnancy, it’s getting harder and harder to keep up with it in terms of my wardrobe. Every morning before work, I look through my closet and try pairing pieces together that feel comfy and roomy enough but it’s not easy! Over the past week or so, I’ve noticed my outfit options getting smaller and smaller and I’m starting to have serious FOMO from the rest of my wardrobe that I’m bumping out of.
This holiday season, I’m obsessing over velvet. Naturally, when I spotted this rose-colored bodysuit, I fell in love. It feels luxurious and looks beautiful on paired with pants and skirts. I especially love its flouncy sleeves. Today, I paired it with a very ’90’s-inspired look that kind of reminds me of the Spice Girls. I figured: why not channel some nostalgia in my wardrobe today? We almost made it through another year and I’m celebrating.
I can’t believe Thanksgiving is so soon! Phil and I could not be more excited to fly to the east coast to celebrate with family. We’ll be hopping off of a red eye flight and going straight to Thanksgiving at my grandparent’s house so we’ll have to dress accordingly for our flight.
