Jumping into our second week back to work after the New Year. After everything that happened last week, for all of our sakes, I’m hoping it will be uneventful! Since Naiya and Sadie are non-stop these days, we’ve been trying our best to take easy day trips into nature every weekend. Throughout the winter months in LA, you can drive less than an hour from our house and end up in the snow. Just after the holidays, we took our girls to Mount Baldy for the first time and they fell in love with winter weather. They were bundled up like the cutest little snow bunnies and had the best time playing in the snow.
“You can’t go back and change the beginning but you can start where you are and change the ending.” This CS Lewis quote is my new mantra for 2021. Jumping into the new year, I’m feeling hopeful, grateful and inspired. In fact, I’ve been SO excited to be out of the 2020 dumpster fire, I feel like a GIANT weight has melted off my shoulders. Anyone else?! I know that nothing has ACTUALLY changed since December 31st, 2020 but something just FEELS different. Also, 2021 has already been especially crazy thanks to yesterday’s insane news out of D.C. so there’s that. I’m still staying positive because it’s the only way to get through all of this in one piece! Likewise, I’m excited to share our first outfit post of the year with you as well as two resolutions I’m setting out to accomplish this year.
A friend of mine introduced me to a children’s clothing brand my girls are now truly living in. Loving these pink gingham dresses so much, we actually have them in two different colors! It’s blowing my mind that Naiya and Sadie are almost wearing the same size, but that’s another story. Today, I’m sharing where to snag these looks as well as some similar looks we’re loving too.
Since many of us are still stuck in quarantine and dreaming of travel post COVID, we could all use a little digital getaway. Sharing some of our favorite snapshots from our babymoon in Kyoto, Japan exactly one year ago at the beautiful Yasaka Pagota in the Higashiyama District. The architecture throughout this city is so serene and relaxing, I can’t wait to go back someday (more here and here). We stayed right at the base of this incredible Pagota and waking up to this view was so memorable. In addition to these photos, sharing a basic comfy outfit for prego mamas who will someday be on the go again some day below.
It’s finally feeling like fall here in Los Angeles–at least throughout the AM (which is a big win for us)! By noon, it’s still in the 80’s but we’ll take it! To celebrate, I pulled out some of our favorite chunky knits and other cozy pieces this week. Naiya actually ended up putting today’s look together herself–mainly because she wouldn’t let these boots go because they double as one of her favorite toys. Sharing how to style chunky knits this season and where to snag one of my favorite sweaters in a few different colors. Topping off today’s post with one of the cutest baby moto jackets we’ve ever seen and of course where to snag Naiya’s handmade booties!
