Another weekend behind us means Phil and I are in the less than three week mark until our wedding. Phil went on his bachelor weekend in Vegas and I was thankful for a productive weekend full of picking up my wedding dress (I can’t believe it’s all ready to go!) and doing final wedding Pinterest-inspired DIY wedding crafting.
My favorite pieces in my closet right now are basics because I love mix and matching them to create very relaxed fall outfits. Basics are especially great for travel because you can create tons of different outfits that will help get you through the trip.
I can never get enough of little black dresses and this one is so comfortable and easy to throw on, it’s one of my new favorites. Today happens to be a warm fall day in Los Angeles so I wore this dress as is without layering it up. As the weather starts to get slightly cooler, I look forward to adding leather jackets or blazers over this LBD for work. On a personal note, I am excited to announce that I said ‘yes to the dress’ this week for my upcoming April wedding!
I love the fall season for many reasons–from the beautiful changing leaves that I grew up with in upstate New York, to pumpkin-flavored lattes–but most importantly, to fashion. The past few weeks, I’ve been following fashion week runways all over the world. This week, I am living vicariously through photos of Paris Fashion Week–especially because I was there last year during this time and I feel like it was just yesterday. This week, when Smartling.com asked me to dream of what I would do if I had the opportunity to have one night abroad, I started fantasizing about being in Paris.
I bought these pants at the beginning of summer and I’ve pretty much lived in them for the past few months. They’re so comfortable, they make me feel like I’m wearing pajamas–but that also means I have to be especially careful when styling them. These pants really have no shape whatsoever so if you don’t wear them right, they can end up looking like a pant suit. In order to make sure that these pants are work-appropriate, I often add heels and/or a belt. This Labor Day weekend, I look forward to dressing them down with flats and wearing them to barbecues.
