This #GivingTuesday, I’m supporting FEAST and I hope you will join me! I’m giving away original watercolor illustration prints from my online shop to three lucky winners who donate to FEAST today here.
As I recently shared here, I’ve finally started to get back into painting for the first time since having Naiya and it feels so liberating. I don’t think I realized how important it is to have this creative outlet that allows me to completely decompress until I became a mom. New mom life is so rewarding but it can also be beyond draining! Painting has become my secret sauce for true relaxation and I’ve greatly enjoyed infusing it back into my life at least once a week. Sharing what creativity means to me today along with some recent creative mother-daughter moments with Naiya and I below.
Last week, I finally had the chance to paint for the first time since Naiya was born. It was only for about an hour but I walked away feeling like I found a little piece of my pre-baby self again. It made me realize just how much my life has chanced since becoming a mom and how much harder it’s been to give my creative passions as much attention as I’d like. Between mom-ing hard, commuting to work and #girlbossing, I barely have enough time to breathe, let alone create. This has been driving me crazy!
Sharing one of my favorite recent sketches of a textured pink dress. I love one-shouldered looks and even though summer is now officially over, I can never have enough pink in my wardrobe.
I can’t believe how quickly the summer flew by and that we’re already celebrating Labor Day weekend! Phil and I will be staying in Los Angeles, enjoying the sunshine and hopefully catching up on some much-needed sleep! I’ve been working around the clock over the past few weeks and I couldn’t be more excited for a nice breather.
