FLORAL DRESS + CAT EYE SUNNIES

Sharing an outfit post from this past weekend where I was wearing a floral dress and my favorite cat eye sunnies of the moment.  I’m loving this dress because even though it has a floral pattern, its dark color is still great for winter.  I’ve been adding a lot of flowy dresses like this one to my wardrobe recently because they’ll be perfect transition pieces for spring. I had the best weekend with Naiya and the fam.  Phil and I took her to her first swim class and watching her in the water was the cutest thing.

JARDIN

I love finding little pockets of Los Angeles that make me feel like I’ve traveled far away.  I pass this beautiful home on my morning runs everyday that looks like a French Chateau. Its walls are covered in ivory and there are beautiful gardens surrounding it.  My outfit today was inspired by this backdrop.

I’m excited to try out a new skirt today that I received as a really sweet birthday gift.  I’m loving this polkadot mini because it’s such a fun, flirty piece and I love its pleats and extra volume at the bottom. Today, I paired it with a timeless white button-down shirt. I gravitate towards wearing classic tops like this with shorter skirts during the work week to create more professional looks overall.

HOLIDAY JEWEL TONES

Happy Thanksgiving!  This year, I’m thankful for many things but especially the fact that I’ll be able to celebrate today with my extended family for the first time in years. This will also be the first time I get to spend the holiday on the east coast with my husband, Phil. The two of us have stayed in LA for the past few Thanksgivings but this time around, we’re excited that we were able to travel.

If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ll know that I love drawing fashion illustrations–especially of dresses.  With every piece that I finish, I’ve always wished that I’d be able to take the project one step further–being able to construct my illustrations into garments I could actually wear.  I was really excited to finally be able to do just that with today’s dress.
