I’m excited to share some new pages out of my fashion sketchbook with you this week. I recently illustrated this summer street style outfit made up of skinny jeans, espadrilles and a bright pink tank. Relaxed summer looks like this have been my go-to most recently–especially on the weekends.
Phil and I flew from LA to Washington D.C. this morning to celebrate the holidays with family. Now that we’ve landed, I can’t believe it’s actually warmer here than it’s been in LA. 70 Degrees in December on the east coast is pretty crazy and although I packed all of my winter gear, we’re thankful not to have to layer up this year! Fashion-wise, I’ve been painting a lot of holiday inspiration recently and this red gown is one of my favorites.
Happy Monday! I took a quick break from my watercolors today to sketch away with some of my favorite markers–prisma colors. I love how prisma colored markers blend so well together and that I can add so much more detail into my illustrations than I can with watercolors alone.
I love experimenting with watercolor illustrations of makeup–especially because they’re so much fun to frame and hang in my art studio space afterwards. I challenged myself to quickly sketch the above painting out in 5-10 minutes because I wanted to see what lipsticks would look like unpolished and without too much detail.
Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been working on painting street style fashion in motion. This is one of my favorite sketches that came out of the process so far. I added in a bunch of texture to the outfit and I like that the colors ended up boldly popping off the page.
