Phil and I recently attended the first wedding we’d been invited to since becoming parents. Truth be told, we had to dig deep into the depths of our closets–past the workout clothes that we’ve been wearing on repeat (more than likely covered in spit-up)–to figure out what to wear. Thankfully, Phil found the perfect suit (men have it so much easier!) and I ended up finding a few classic dresses in the pre-prego section of my closet that I was hoping would fit!
One of my best friends recently tied the knot in the most beautiful fairytale wedding in Malibu. Before she knew we were pregnant, she had asked me to be one of her bridesmaids and I didn’t think twice before of course saying yes! As the months of our pregnancy passed by, while I couldn’t wait to be a part of her special day, it became increasingly real to me that I’d have to squeeze into a bridesmaid’s dress at over 8-months pregnant. As my bump continued to grow, I came to realize that this would not be as easy a task as I had thought back in my first trimester.
For our one year wedding anniversary, our talented wedding photographer and friend, Katrina Jayne Photography, set up the most beautiful styled shoot for us. Over the past couple of years, Katrina has captured our love story–from our engagement to wedding photos. We’re so excited to share our next chapter with you.
This lace frock is hands-down one of my favorite pieces in my closet right now. I’ve worn it to a few special occasions over the past couple of years so far–including my bridal shower. Since my hubby and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary this week, I decided it would be special to wear this dress again. Sharing where I scored it and how I styled it a bit differently this time around.
I can’t believe today marks one year since Phil and I tied the knot! People told us that this year would fly by but I literally feel like we blinked. Last year at this time, we were so excited to walk down the aisle and we were keeping our fingers crossed that after countless hours of planning, our wedding would go off without a hitch.
