If you’ve been following along for the last few weeks, you’ll know that our family moved into our new home three weeks ago. Ever since, I’ve been in interior design-obsessed mode. We had some unfortunate move-in hiccups that we’re still in the midst of figuring out (more here) but we’re starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel! In the meantime, I’ve been staying as positive as possible, trying to find the best deals out there right now on home decor. One of our favorite retailers, Serena & Lily is having a BIG sale right now. Rounding up some of our favorite picks from the sale–from pillows to baskets and dressers to lighting (clickable above).
My fiance and I took a weekend trip to Hearst Castle this weekend and I’m so happy we did. Hearst Castle was William Randolph Hearst’s private estate and it’s located in central California–about 3.5 hours outside of Los Angeles. The estate was decorated for the holidays and it was so beautiful; it really felt like we went abroad for the weekend.
I’m always on the lookout for fun DIY interior decorating ideas and the above projects are some of my current favorites. I’m an avid runner and as I run through the streets of Los Angeles, I often see perfectly good furniture lying on the sidewalk ready to be hauled away. Sometimes, I’ll stumble upon old dressers that no one wants anymore. Above are a couple of fun, inexpensive ways to use salvaged pieces of furniture or drawers you might find around your neighborhood or at a flea market.
