When most -people think about gifts to buy new mamas, they usually gravitate towards generous gifts for her new baby. While these are ALWAYS appreciated, I’ve learned it’s also important to brainstorm gifts for new mamas to enjoy during the postpartum period and beyond. After having Naiya, a friend gifted me the most beautiful “Naiya” necklace and to this day, I literally never take it off. It was one of the most thoughtful, special gifts and it left such a lasting impact. So today, I’m rounding up gifts for new mamas (clickable below) to enjoy in case you’re racking your brain for what to buy them.
Since I recently had two babies in just over two years, my hair has gone through A LOT of changes. While I have naturally big, curly hair, postpartum hair loss for me was and continues to be a VERY real thing. Sharing a few products I’ve been using this year (clickable above) to help my hair grow back healthier, thicker and stronger than ever. This post is not sponsored. I happen to have found products that are truly working for me so I wanted to share.
As this very uncertain time continues, I’ve found myself having a harder time than ever creating balance between work and family time. It’s SO difficult for me to actually find a way to shut down work when my office is in literally in my bedroom. Creating separation from the kids during the day when they’re constantly trying to knock down the door to my home “office” is also nearly impossible. And on top of it all, the mom guilt I feel when I have to pick zoom over cuddles in order to stay productive really weighs on me. #Quarantineproblems with kids!. Sharing a few tips with you today that I’m trying my best to follow this year in order to help create a better sense of work life balance. It’s not easy and I’m definitely still a work in progress but hopefully this resonates with other parents who are in a similar boat.
2020 Is The Year Of The Mother. We’ve had to learn how to balance the impossible without being able to safely leave our homes. Many days have felt nearly impossible since mamas never get a day off yet we’ve made it through. I designed this “Mama Strong” sweatshirt for all of the amazing mamas out there to wear as a BADGE OF HONOR this year and always. I’ll be donating 10% of the proceeds to March of Dimes’ ‘Mom and Baby COVID-19 Intervention And Support Fund.’
I planned on sharing our maternity photos before Sadie was born but since the past weeks have been such a blur, excited to finally share now! Better late than never! Naiya, Phil and myself had so much fun snapping these a few weeks back while we dreamed about what our family of four would be like. Throughout the shoot, I remember feeling like I was about to pop and wondered how much longer Sadie could possibly stay in my belly. She was clearly running out of room in there and I couldn’t wait for her to come out! Looking back at these photos now, though, dare I say I actually already miss the bump?! I had such a tough pregnancy where I was very sick and threw up every day and yet I still look back at this time missing it! Am I crazy?
