As of last week, we are officially homeowners with our own yard and patio space! While we had some unexpected mishaps moving in last week (more here), we’re still getting inspired by outdoor patio decor to stay positive. After all, summer is right around the corner and as soon as our new house is back to its original condition, we can’t wait to entertain and spend tons of time outside with the kids. Rounding up some of our favorite patio pieces of the moment that are all clickable (above and below).

I’m currently obsessing over umbrellas that remind me of vacation homes in Palm Springs. I love the Palm Springs design aesthetic overall. The clean, modern lines speak to me, as do the bright colors and mid century modern furniture. This white umbrella here with scalloped edges is too cute and it can really set a fun, dessert-like tone for any backyard. We currently have our eye on it and love that it’s well under $200.

I’m all about decorating with tons of greenery right now. I’m especially loving succulents (such easy upkeep!), and cactus. I especially love adding in all different sized plants–from hanging plants to fiddle leaf plans like this one here or here.  After all, potted plants create such a chic, relaxed vibe in any space. Truthfully, I have not yet found my green thumb but I’m hopeful that this time around I’ll get it together!

I love adding pops of color that create a sense of calm to any space. For this reason, I’m loving this beautiful blue outdoor rug and this more neutral rug . I’d love to decorate our patio with either of these as they’re so versatile.

On the throw pillow front, I’ve gone down quite a rabbit hole over the past few weeks. I’ve been browsing pillows with bright pops of color and neutral tones alike. That said, I think I’m gravitating towards neutral pillows in light grays, pinks and tans. I’d like to start with a more muted pallet so that I don’t get sick of my choices for years to come. I’m especially loving these pillows of all different colors and textures here, here, here and here to add extra personality and comfort to our chairs.

On the furniture front, I’ve found myself gravitating towards neutral rattan or wicker furniture. I recently shared some pieces with this sort of boho aesthetic here. My parents had so much of this type of furniture growing up and there’s something about it that feels so nostalgic to me. For years, I stayed far away from it. That said, I’m loving that it’s back in style in a big way and now, I’m here for it!

My faves are these wicker mid century modern-inspired chairs here. They’d look so cute with the above pillows on them. These patio chairs are in the same design family and I’m loving them too. The cushions look so comfy and I love the round shape.

The sellers of our home had four of these adorable black minimal chairs in our backyard surrounding a fire pit. They looked so cute and were so comfortable, we may have to buy them ourselves to recreate what was already working so well. I’m also obsessing over this outdoor dining chairs and table set which has a similar aesthetic to the rattan chairs above but I love that you can purchase everything you need at once for under $800.
