HOW TO STYLE A BLANKET SCARF

Nine weeks into parenthood–just when we thought we would never sleep again–we are ecstatic to share that Naiya slept through the night for the first time! For those of you who have been following along, you know that Naiya has had digestion problems since soon after birth and we’ve been trying to get to the bottom of them. We started her on a new medication this week and a few days into it, she has finally slept more than 3-4 hours at a time! We still don’t have all of the answers but this is definitely progress!

After going weeks without sleep, we feel so relieved (and we hope that Naiya does too)! Even if this was a fluke and it doesn’t happen again for a while, the gift of one night where I only had to get up to pump and didn’t have to rock a hysterical baby on top of it was incredible! Fingers crossed this medication continues to work and we’ll all be able to sleep better and better as the weeks go on.

Outfit-wise, I’m sharing some of my favorite fall basics of the moment which I tied together with a plaid blanket scarf. This white button-down from Madewell is hands-down one of the most worn pieces in my closet; it truly goes with everything. Today, I paired it with boyfriend jeans with fringe on the bottom, nude pumps and round sunnies.

I tied the blanket scarf a couple of different ways: first, I folded it in half, draped it around my neck and slipped the loose ends through the loop in front. This creates a shorter looking scarf that almost looks like a tie. It’s a simple, chic way of tying such a big scarf and it keeps it contained.

Second, I  draped the scarf around my neck without folding it in half first and I tied the ends into two knots. From there, I shifted the knots a bit off to the side.  I love this look because it adds extra warmth and volume around the neck and it also becomes a nice statement piece.
