WHAT’S IN MY HOSPITAL BAG

August 24th was our daughter’s official due date but she’s still apparently very comfortable and is cooking away! The past two nights, I’ve had really intense contractions that were so bad, I was convinced they were the real deal and we needed to head to the hospital. That said, since they were not happening in repetitive intervals and they were kind of all over the place, we knew the hospital wouldn’t admit us yet.  Instead, we decided to wait them out until morning, at which point the contractions ended up dying down rather than progressing into active labor after all. Needless to say, we’re still on big time baby watch and our families are also on pins and needles.  In the meantime, sharing what is in our hospital bag for labor (whenever it does actually happen!).

We’ve actually had our hospital bag packed and in our car for a few weeks now (wishful thinking!). I should also preface the following with the fact that of course I’m a first-time mom and chances are we’ve totally overpacked but here is what we think will make us most comfortable for our upcoming hospital stay. Here goes:

  • Rolling Suitcase
  • A picture ID (driver’s license), insurance card, hospital paperwork and our birth preferences  document for our doctor/nurses.
