As we were packing for our babymoon a few weeks ago, I realized right away that I was overpacking.  Aside from tossing a bunch of bathing suits into my suitcase, I couldn’t figure out how to pair down the rest of my outfits (which was not a good thing since Phil and I were sharing a suitcase!). If I could go back in time, I would have taken maybe 3-4 outfits out of my bag (making my hubby much happier) and I would have replaced them with this versatile dress.

I ended up wearing this look on repeat because it was so light, oversized and perfect to take me from the beach to exploring and then even out to dinner (plus it fit well over the bump even though it wasn’t maternity).  If you’re planning your babymoon or a trip somewhere tropical in the near future, I recommend buying a few light dresses like this one here, here or here because you can live in them.

These photos were taken a little more than halfway through our trip. On this particular day, we visited Maui’s beautiful Lavender Farm which is about a half hour away from our hotel in Wailea.  It was less than ten dollars for us both to get in and we were able to walk around the beautiful gardens for as long as we wanted.. Aside from the fresh blooms everywhere, my favorite part was looking down at the picturesque views of Maui from above.  It was such a peaceful, zen location.

For lunch, we went to Mama’s Fish House–which turned out to be one of our favorite stops throughout our whole trip. We can’t recommend this restaurant enough. Not only is the service excellent–I also love that if you’re celebrating a special event like a birthday, anniversary or babymoon, they’ll ask you in advance and give you a lei when you sit down (like the one I’m wearing below). It’s totally touristy but it was so nice and the staff made us feel special. I was given an open lei because apparently for pregnant women, a closed lei it is a symbol of bad luck and it is believed to symbolize the umbilical cord tied around the baby’s neck.

The food at Mama’s Fish House was also delicious and prepared beautifully. While the menu tends to be a bit on the pricier side, I loved that there were a bunch of healthy food options that were totally worth it.  The best part was looking out at one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen while we ate. I’m already ready to go back.
