Sharing today’s look of the day with a heavy heart. I’ve been debating as to whether I should even post these photos today given the state of our country post-election day. I’m waking up this morning in a country I do not recognize at all and one that needs to heal big time.
Since I’m on the hunt for something that will make me feel better this morning and since I’m a firm believer that all girls, let alone all people–no matter their gender, race, religion, background or sexual orientation–should have the opportunity to pursue and achieve their biggest dreams, I’ve decided to carry on as usual to share my street style look with you today.
After a power blazer moment yesterday here (#pantsuitnation), today I’m wearing a suede olive skirt (similar here) with an exposed zipper, black OTK boots I snagged at Zara for less than $100 (similar here and here), a comfy black turtle neck (on sale!), classic black sunnies and a denim jacket (also on sale!). I’ve been loving the color olive this fall and have recently been playing around with dressing turtlenecks up and down too. This particular turtleneck fits so beautifully and it looks great tucked into jeans, underneath a blazer or even a pantsuit.
To all of the little girls out there: “never doubt that you are valuable and powerful and deserving of every chance and opportunity in the world to pursue and achieve your own dreams” No matter what you are seeing on television, no matter what you’re hearing at home or at school, bullies are not and will never be in the right. Stay kind and compassionate and always take the high road.
“Remember to aim high, work hard and care deeply about what you believe in. Dream big and never stop believing that fighting for what’s right is always worth it. And when you’re knocked down, get right back up and never listen to anyone who says you can’t or shouldn’t go on.”
