I’m so excited to celebrate my birthday this weekend! Every year around my birthday, I always get really nostalgic and this year is no exception. I’ll soon be celebrating my 9th anniversary since I moved from New York to LA and it’s blowing my mind how quickly time is flying.
Tonight is also the anniversary of when I officially started dating my husband. We originally met when I auditioned for his Los Angeles-based rock band, Autumn Twilights. After I made the band as the female singer, he started scheduling “band meetings” at restaurants where he would only invite only me (smooth move, Phil!). In the end, these band “meetings” helped us to get to know each other and Phil ultimately wooed me into officially dating him. We got married last April so the past year has been such a special one. I’m not sure if couples really celebrate their dating anniversaries after they’re married but this day still feels kind of special so why not?
This year, for my pre-birthday outfit, I’ve created a edgy twist to a classic look by adding a long white blazer with side cut-outs. I stayed away from long sleeveless blazers for a bit but have recently jumped onto this bandwagon because I love how versatile they are and that they can add polish to any look. Next, I look forward to pairing my vest with a white dress for spring. Today, I style it with my favorite rockstud heels that have become a real staple in my closet. I also wore my favorite Rag and Bone ripped skinny jeans, a simple black tee, aviators and a top knot.
