5 SPRING STAPLES TO SPLURGE ON

Fashion-wise, spring is my favorite season.  I’m a huge fan of spring dresses, pastels and light, casual garments.  I’ve been cleaning out my closet recently to prep for the change of season and noticed I’ve collected a few fashion staples that I’ve been able to transition over for all different seasons seamlessly.  Below, I’m sharing my 5 favorite looks that will really amp up your wardrobe this spring and beyond.

Chanel Purse 5 fashion staples for springsisters_371-683x1024

#1 A TIMELESS PURSE: Every woman should invest in a beautifully-made, timeless purse. But with so many to choose from at all different price-points how do you narrow down your wish list?

Buy quality over quantity: Having ten purses that are less expensive but are not well made will ultimately cost you a lot more than you think in the long run.  Instead of stocking up on purses you’ll end up throwing out next year, splurge on a purse made of soft, beautiful leather that will really last.

Stay Away From Trends: Always look for a bag you can picture yourself wearing ten or even twenty years from now.  A good bag is a great investment so splurge wisely!

Say Yes to Chanel: For me, a Chanel bag is my holy grail.  It’s classic, timeless and will never lose its value.  I’m still dreaming of adding the above Chanel bag to my collection but since I’m still saving up for it, here are some other beauties I also have my eye on in the meantime: MadewellTory BurchASOS.

Chanel Espadrilles

#2 ESPADRILLES: A classic espadrille is another spring fashion staple I completely support splurging on! I scooped up this pair of Chanel espadrilles second-hand last year (for a steal!) and they were such an amazing investment. I wear them multiple times a week and they go with just about everything.  I also love espadrille wedges but if I had to choose between heels and flats, I would pick flats because they’re more versatile.  Here are some other espadrilles I’m loving this season: herehere and here.

#3 NUDE PUMPS: The above classic nude pump by Jimmy Choo is hands down, one of my most-worn items in my closet (along with #4 below!). I splurged on these pumps for our wedding rehearsal dinner and I’m so happy I did because I’ve continued to wear them almost daily. They dress up jeans and a blazer for work, they look great with skirts, dresses and even shorts.  If there is one item to splurge on, splurge on a beautifully-made pair of nude stilettos this season.

#4 LEATHER JACKET:  Aside from my nude pumps, another staple I can never get enough of is my leather jacket. I splurged on a couple over the past few years and although I did feel guilty about the purchase at the time, these jackets are my ride or die. They amp up truly any look and I wear them year-round. Here are some of my current favorites (and they don’t all have to be black!): herehere (blush!), and here.  If you can’t afford expensive leather right now, there are so many great vegan leather looks too!: here (blush!)here and here

#5 BASIC JEANS: It’s no surprise that a basic pair of jeans is something every woman should have in her closet.  I think it’s important to splurge on a pair that will truly last you years so you don’t always have to replace them. I’m obsessed with the brand Rag & Bone for this (like this pair here). Their denim is made beautifully and it wears so well with age. I wear mine multiple times a week and they look great dressed down or dressed up.
