Happy almost New Year! As we enter 2016, I’m especially thankful for all of the things that I’ve learned this year–both through writing RELish and beyond. 2015 has been a year full of big life changes and many ups and downs but my favorite highlight by far was tying the knot with my love, Phil on April 19th in southern California. Our wedding opened up a whole new life chapter for us and so far, it’s hands down my favorite.
Likewise, my favorite outfits of the year were the gowns I got to wear during our wedding weekend: my rehearsal dinner and wedding gowns. Revamping my Mom’s wedding gown into my rehearsal dinner dress was one of the most creatively rewarding experiences I’ve ever had (see the full story here). I wish I could wear that gown everyday and I can’t wait to continue to pass it down as a family heirloom someday.
In terms of the everyday outfits I wore throughout the other 364 days of the year, I loved wearing classic girly dresses, a lot of neutrals, layering pieces like leather jackets and faux fur coats and I loved investing in classic pumps that I could wear to work. I also feel like my personal style evolved a lot this year. I noticed myself buying less trendy pieces and really saving up for a few classic pieces instead that felt more timeless and versatile.
The start of a new year also marks the second anniversary of RELish. I started this blog in January of 2014 as a space where I could share street style inspiration and fashion illustrations. It has since evolved into an amazing creative outlet for me where I’ve been able to not only get inspired and connect with like-minded people and brands all over the world–writing RELish has also become one of the best parts of my day.
Thanks so much for following along and for helping me to stay inspired. 2016 already has a lot of exciting new projects in store for RELish that I can’t wait to write about so definitely stay tuned! I look forward to another year of blogging away and continuing to share my creative journey with you.
