I often gravitate towards basic outfits that I can easily dress up or down depending on the accessories or layers I choose to wear. Today, I chose to create a more dramatic look with my outfit instead. I found this long sheer sleeveless kimono in my closet that I hadn’t worn in a while. I love how light and airy the material is but the kimono always needs to be paired with the perfect outfit in order to make it work. I decided to create a train-like effect by wearing the kimono over high-waisted shorts. This way, it would trail to the ground in the back. Next, I paired a printed owl tank with my favorite leather jacket to top off the look.
In the end, it was a much more alternative look than I usually put together but but I had a lot of fun stepping out of my comfort zone. This outfit reminds me that there’s something positive about keeping a bunch of older clothes tucked away in the back my closet–I can always find a way to work these pieces back into my wardrobe when the time is right.
