The weather has been so beautiful in Los Angeles, my fabulous photographer, Alexandra Lee Nurthen, and I decided to explore Downtown Los Angeles (DTLA) to get inspired. Unlike most major cities, the center of Los Angeles is definitely not our downtown area. Instead, our suburban areas like West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and Santa Monica are more densely populated. This, of course, causes tons of traffic, since there really is no true center of town.
However, on a positive note, this has also caused DTLA to become a really interesting, up-and-coming urban epicenter for street art and culture. As a Los Angeles-transplant from New York, DTLA reminds me of home–except that it never snows and the streets are never crowded. I wore a really casual, comfortable outfit: one of my favorite acid washed chambrays and high-waisted Citizens of Humanity Shorts. I paired these with my bright Pink Wildfox Sunnies and nude Zara heels.
