Just as temperatures started to drop over the weekend here in Los Angeles and I pulled out ALL the cozy sweaters, LA decided to hit us with another almost 90 degree day. While I’m definitely not complaining about the beautiful summery weather here, the schizophrenic temps are not always easy to keep up with outfit-wise. Since Madewell is my go-to store for comfy basics throughout all seasons, I’m sharing where to snag my favorite must-have versatile pieces of the moment for fall. The best part? Many of these pieces are currently on sale for 30% off an already discounted price using the code “ORDERUP.” These basics are perfect for layering (if LA ever allows us to get there!).
For those of you looking to track down the perfect little white dress to add to your wardrobe (which is especially ideal for engagement photo sessions or other wedding festivities), this post is for you! I scooped this dress up from one of my favorite online retailers, Chicwish and I’m obsessed. Aside from being so cute, it has a price tag of less than $80.00 so it’s also pretty much guilt-free. Sharing outfit details with you below as well as some ideas in terms of how to style it for fall. Wrapping up today’s post with a quick family update. Enjoy!
We can’t believe Naiya will be turning one on August 30th–especially because our baby with all the leg rolls is already fitting into 12-18 month clothing! Naiya has been growing so quickly, I’ve had a hard time keeping up with stocking her closet. I keep folding up her 6-12 month outfits to store away and can’t believe how quickly time is going. I totally ugly cried a few nights ago watching videos of Naiya on my phone from every month of her life so far. Phil came downstairs and probably thought I was a nut. This parenting thing is so crazy emotional! How have Phil and I been parents for almost a year? Then again, it feels like a lifetime at the same time.
Whether you own your own business or you’re someone who dabbles in social media for fun, in today’s crazy world, we have all become our own brands. Over the past couple of months, I’ve received a bunch of messages from people asking me how to grow their brands on social media from the ground up. Since I’ve enjoyed connecting with them so much individually, today I’m sharing the top 5 ways you too can build your own brand from the ground-up and ultimately become your own boss.
Last week, I finally had the chance to paint for the first time since Naiya was born. It was only for about an hour but I walked away feeling like I found a little piece of my pre-baby self again. It made me realize just how much my life has chanced since becoming a mom and how much harder it’s been to give my creative passions as much attention as I’d like. Between mom-ing hard, commuting to work and #girlbossing, I barely have enough time to breathe, let alone create. This has been driving me crazy!
